GUIDE TO CIVIL WAR SITES
Not all sites listed have the same level of interpretation. Some sites have battlefields, forts, or museums, while others may only have a roadside marker. Look for the following logos to indicate the level of interpretation available at these sites.

Discovery Trail The Civil War Discovery Trail was created by The Civil War Trust and links more than 500 sites in 28 states.  All sites listed have a high level of interpretation.
Civil War Heritage Trail Kentucky's Civil War Heritage Trail was developed by the Kentucky Heritage Council, and is involved in helping communities preserve, protect, and interpret their Civil War sites.  All sites listed have a high level of interpretation.
Kentucky Heritage Tours
Kentucky Heritage Tours #5 invites you to explore Kentucky's highways and experience some of the Civil War sites that were important to the state's involvement in the war.  Some sites may have little or no interpretation available.
1000 Mile Front
The "1000-Mile Front" was produced by the Lower Mississippi Valley Civil War Task force and includes vital Civil War events that took place in the Lower Mississippi Valley.  Some sites may have little or no interpretation available.
