Park City, KY

Park City is home to Bell's Tavern Historical Park, 117 W. Dixie St.  Bell's Tavern was constructed by slave labor, but was never completed due to the onset of the Civil War.  The site was used as a Confederate encampment headquarters for the raid on the Mammoth Cave Hotel.  Civil War soldiers are buried in the small Bell/Proctor Family Cemetery.  Major George M. Proctor, owner of the cemetery, served the Confederacy at Andersonville, Georgia.
