It's time again for the Fall Knott County Trail Ride.
This year promises to be the biggest and best ever!

There will be plenty of entertainment for everyone - rider or not!
Everyone is welcome!

Local bands will provide plenty of music on Friday and Saturday nights.
There will be great food, traders and vendors as well as campfires.
You'll have plenty of time to make new friends and catch up with the old ones.

Don't Forget this is elk bugling season so keep your eyes and ears open!

Of course, we haven't even mentioned the trail rides themselves - over 100 miles with more being planned on 43,000 acres of reclaimed coal lands.

People are encouraged to bring their horses to ride as well as buggies
and wagons - all are welcome.

Cost: $10 per person for the entire weekend. Children 12 or under FREE.
(Law enforcement officers will once again be on-site to help assure that the Trail Ride
be a wholesome, family-oriented event.)

Horseback Riding & Trails

Hundreds of miles of horseback riding trails are being developed on a large portion of 43,000 acres of reclaimed coal property that includes wooded trails, creek crossings and one of the trails even includes a cave. The Sutton Memorial Park is the trailhead to the annual spring and fall trail ride event.

May, 2008 - Thanks to all for attending the 2nd Annual Knott County Spring Trail Ride. We counted over 1,500 horses at the event this year! WOW!

People came from Georgia, Texas, California, Colorado, Michigan, Tennesssee, West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, Illinois, Indiana, New York and all over Kentucky. We estimate we had 500 more people in attendance than at the 2007 event that was huge. We definitely had more campers and trailers this spring.

The Fall Trail Ride is held the first weekend in October at the peak of elk bugling season in which the bulls make a unique mating sound! Also the perfect time to catch the fall foliage. It is an experience one does not want to miss!
