The fifth and present Montgomery County courthouse was completed in 1960. In 1955, Meriwether, Marye, and Associates of Lexington were hired to design the courthouse. The contract for the new courthouse was awarded to the Alderman Company in 1958. The courthouse is of modern colonial design and fronted by a four column portico.
