WEEKEND ADVENTURES
You bring the food - We bring everything else!
DATES: MARCH, APRIL, MAY, AUGUST, & SEPTEMBER
(Call at least two weeks ahead to schedule)
Enjoy a relaxing outdoor weekend exploring the beautiful Appalachian Mountains in Southeast Kentucky on horseback. In the heart of elk country we will ride through wooded areas, streams and on reclaimed coal mined areas that are perfect habitat for elk, deer, turkey, quail, and numerous song birds and other wildlife.
Learn about elk and other wildlife in the area from guides with 40 years of combined experience - along with flora and fauna identification and animal tracks.
Learn about basic horsemanship including grooming and saddling your own horse. The Rocky Mountain horses we provide you are known for their gentle disposition and easy gait. We also have Tennessee Walking horses which are known for their unique four-beat "running-walk", stamina, and easy temperment, making them popular trail horses.
Learn campfire cooking techniques - open fire, charcoal, Dutch oven cooking, etc. Contact us to work out details of meals/suggestions. Bring your own food and prepare your own meals at campsite or eat out at any of the nearest restuarants. (Click here for information on Hazard -20/28 miles.)
