Historic L & N Depot and Railpark

In 1925, the Louisville and Nashville Railroad built one of the most beautiful passenger depots on its line here in Bowling Green. Classic Revival in style, the interior was decorated with a hand laid nexagonal tile floor wainscoting, with the exterior made from local limestone, all of which remain today.

The interactive museum is self-guided and includes a model railroad exhibit by the sHOw Club, a theater showing vintage railroad films, and exhibits featuring the historical and cultural aspects of passenger service. Included in the museum tour is a guided walk through the collection of vintage passenger cars.

Comprised of a presidential office car built in 1911, a 1949 Pullman Standard dining car, a 1953 Luxury Pullman sleeper and a Chessie Class caboose, E8 engine, and the L & N 1107 (a RPO car from the 1920s).

Railcars are open for tours during museum hours: Tuesday - Saturday 9 am - 5 pm; Sunday 1 - 4 pm. Closed on Mondays. May - October: Open on Mondays also from 9 am - 5 pm.
